EXPEDITION GEAR LIST
The zone of Aconcagua has its own characteristics and its microclimate is variable with white winds, snowfalls and intense cold in every moment of the year. Considering this, personal and group equipment must be seriously controlled in respect of quality and quantity.
Anyhow, and even in the summer time, temperattires can go as down as
35°C below zero, and winds near
120 km/h may be encountered.
In
Mendoza it is possible to get good provision of camping gas (butane) in disposable cartridges and white gas too.
The same in LOS PUQUIOS CAMPING (Puente del Inca)
It is also convenient to make arrangements well in advance for the purchase or renting of equipment through local mountaineers having the proper connections.
